The chefs in the back prep food daily for dinner and brunch and EVERYTHING is amazing! There's a feature sheet with new food creations every week if not every couple days(us regulars really enjoy the changes), I would call it a hole in the wall but it's on a main street so it's even better!! Great selections of local wine and beer; the executive chef is also the owner and he's there every single day S&P is open.
Some of the best food of any kind I have ever had. The bbq is great, the tuna is as fresh as it gets. Hands down the best bake beans you will ever have. Its a must in Traverse City. Really fairly priced, great food, great owner and staff, and a really cool atmosphere. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would.2
What a great find. Stopped in for lunch and loved the food and service. The lobster and butternut squash bisque is exceptional. They add a green curry paste with sunflower seeds, sliced almonds, coconut flakes and cilantro in the center that allows you to change the taste and texture as you eat it. The toasted rye bread, along with the pickled onions and apples in the slaw, raises the smoked pastrami sandwich to a whole new level. Really looking forward to trying more on the menu. Kudos to the chef and staff.
My husband and I were up in Traverse City for a little winter getaway and while out and about one day we decided to stop at Smoke and Porter for a bite to eat. I wish it was down where we live! Best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had. Normally I'm a bit weary of smoked stuff because I find the flavor can sometimes be overpowering, but it was sweetly subtle and very, very good. My husband had a burger and loved it. He was even impressed with the coffee. To top it all off, the service was wonderful. If and when we're back up in TC, we will be back.
